1972:
Pete is born in Bellingham, WA. Crying and teething ensue…followed by a move to a small town in rural Whatcom County called Acme and various musical ventures. After growing up in the sticks, Pete leaves for urban Seattle immediately following high school and starts a handful of bands over the next few years.

1994:
Pete forms Grammatrain in Seattle, WA with Paul Roraback & Dalton Roraback. Grammatrain begins playing clubs in Seattle and records its first demo cassette (yes, cassette).

1995:
Grammatrain records their independent self-titled CD with producer Aaron Sprinkle and soon signs to Forefront/EMI. Grammatrain records Lonely House (also with Aaron), which is released to a decent amount of critical acclaim, and then tours like there’s no tomorrow for the next two years.

1997:
Grammatrain releases Flying, its sophomore album with Forefront, which they record in Memphis with producer John Hampton. Almost immediately, they get back out on the road.

1998:
Grammatrain breaks up; Forefront holds Pete to their recording contract. Pete decides its a good idea to move to Nashville, TN, and he begins recording his first solo album.

1999:
Forefront/EMI puts out Pete’s self-titled solo album and simultaneously fires and shifts most of its staff during the week of its release. This results in the halt of all marketing for Pete’s album. Forefront also releases Grammatrain Live, a recording of the band’s final show in Germany. Pete begins producing other artists and bands’ albums and gladly gets released by Forefront. Later, Pete remarks that this solo album felt disjointed to him and not representative of himself.

2002:
Pete wins a Grammy for his production work with Tait (he stayed home; the Grammy came in the mail a few days later).

2003:
Pete grows a bit weary of Nashville and the Christian music scene in the midst of a great deal of personal soul-searching and moves to San Diego, CA. He forms The Accident Experiment with Marcos Curiel (of P.O.D.), Ernie Longoria and Tony DeLocht. The Accident Experiment records and releases its independent debut EP, Arena. They become one of San Diego’s most popular bands and achieve some national press.

2004-2006:
The Accident Experiment tours relentlessly, playing shows with Korn, Sevendust, The Foo Fighters, Damage Plan, Three Doors Down and more.

2006:
The Accident Experiment signs to Rock Ridge/Warner Bros and releases United We Fear. They continue touring. Two of their singles chart in a few markets across the country. Pete begins working on a solo album in between tour dates, recording in various places and hotel rooms.

2007:
The Accident Experiment calls it quits. Pete releases his second solo album, I Gave You A Desert, independently and forms The Plastic Saviors to accompany him. He begins playing solo shows, mostly in California, but also including notable locations like SXSW. At the end of the year, Pete moves to Los Angeles for a brief stint. He also begins recording his third solo album.

2008:
Pete becomes busy producing artists and bands again, while still working on his follow up album. After producing projects for four Seattle bands in a row, he moves back to his former home city. He also reunites with the rest of Grammatrain for the first time in ten years. After the trio hangs out for a day together, they decide to begin recording new material and eventually perform as Grammatrain again. Pete also makes some headway on his album in between everything else.

2009:
Grammatrain plays two reunion shows to packed-out venues in both Seattle, WA and Ennepetal, Germany. Grammatrain releases the limited-edition Kneeling Between Shields EP
and continues work on their full length album. Pete wins a Grammy for tobyMac’s album Alive and Transported (again, he stayed home but was alerted via text message that he had won this time). Despite producing and recording with more artists, he makes a lot of headway on his solo album and announces that it will be completed by February 2010.

2010:
Pete finishes Under North Sky, his third solo record.
